Yesterday, comic column Lying in the Gutters reported that Fall Out Boy's impending comic debut had met a legal challenge from the makers of The Simpsons on the basis of their ownership of the trademark in comics.

Today, AbsolutePunk's Jason Tate posted this response:

Just talked to Patrick from Fall Out Boy and found out it's hard for a comic to be shelved that the band never planned on doing to begin with. Guess we can't trust those gossipy comic book websites. Sorry about the confusion.
